Searching for Moosey
Who doesn’t like to play word search games? OK, there probably are some people who don’t, but maybe that’s because they’re not good at them. The only way to get better at something though is to practice, right?
It seems like word searches (also called word find, word seek, word sleuth and mystery word) have been around forever, but the truth is they’re only about 60 years old. In Spain, Pedro Ocon De Oro, a man who loved puzzles created Sopa de Letras, or “Soup of Letters. Then, in 1968, a man name Norman Gibat created a word search for his small advertising magazine in Norman, OK and from there, the idea spread like wildfire. Today, there are hundreds of digital word search games you can play online and a variety of versions. In one, there is a hidden message in the left-over letters or “snaking” words that do not flow in a straight line, just to add to the challenge.
Ours features words found on our website and in Moosey’s new book, “Marvelous Moosey’s Adventures Begin.” Set a timer for you and your friends to see how fast you can find all the words. Have fun!
